The Artist

My painting began many years ago upon my returned from a trip abroad. I ventured into the majestic mountains of Nepal where the skies are deep and the prayer wheels turn freely. Nepal is a place where you forget time and remember the simple way. Upon returning from my adventure I knew I was to paint.

I paint to inspire, to wake the spirit from its slumber and to remind myself of the splendor and beauty of life.

Nepal is a place where you forget time and remember the simple way. Upon returning from my adventure I knew I was to paint.

I decided when painting, to allow my innocence of spirit and naive form to grow and find their way into my art. I learned, over time, to accept the lines, colors, and ideas that shaped my way to art.
I have always been in love with water so it is no wonder that watercolors choose me. I am fascinated with how you can capture the motion of color and time using watercolors. I sense the spirit of the water, of the paper and of the colors as they find their way into form. In the end, each painting is beyond the sum of their ideas and their materials. In the end, each painting is breathing in and out and speaks its own name.

I hope to contribute to the beauty and love of this mysterious life force. I paint to remind myself and others that we breathe in and we breathe out. I paint to remind us that we have hands and that we are creating in every moment, that this act of perpetual creation is the journey of our awakening. I strive to remind myself and others that we are alive and that we are in the end and in the beginning ... Spirit.

Go in peace.
